  • Wow, this was the perfect match with medium rare Irish tenderloins. Cork was a mess and I prefer sieving juice thru a teabag to owning a durand. Luckily the wine was/is much more together then the cork was.
The nose is very bramberry, cooked as well as fresh, stewed prums also come to mind.
Then on the palate old leather, marinated in dark and savoury berry extract. Some greenish pepper to remind you of the cabarnet Sauvignon part of the blend.
This is in your face, just about balanced and very nice.
Two more in the cellar, I don't think this will get much more tertiary than where it already is, but likely to keep it together for the next 2-3 years.

  • Leather, Cassis, fruit al dente .
Do not want to use the term boiled because it is negative.
    But it was sultry impression.
Jammy , toast, laurel and some menthol.
    The acids are gently clean.
A large wine with the crispy acids that give this mature wine such a beautiful balance.

  • mineral, black fruits, very ripe fruits, sweet, alcohol, sharp acids, smoke, spices, still young

  • Still youthful with life ahead of it. Initially a bit unbalanced (not decanted), but came together in the glass.

Modern, ripe, some alcohol and slight sweet touch. Impeccable winemaking, more new world style. Later on animality from the syrah emerged next to the cab. Good wine, but a bit different in style from what I expected.
