Sunday, December 10, 2023 - Double decanted for sediment then decanted for a few hours in the AM. Drunk over dinner that evening.

A lovely nose Cannubi roses, red fruits, tar, balsam, with just a hint of soy. Sapid and expansive on the palate with more lovely red fruits nebbiolo fruit, florals, and perfume, but with a touch of decaying leaves. There is flesh and a degree of opulence but it is held in check. Some Giacosa like hard candy notes. I think this shows the vintage character in good light with the ripeness and flesh being really well balanced. Lovely, but not the best bottle of this have had. Still outstanding. I will try another soon and see. I do like where a lot of the 05s (at least the producers I like) are right now. 94
