Powerful nose of berries, cherry and vanilla. I do not taste the strong fruit many of the other notes mention. I got muted fruit walled off by heavy tannins and a strong earth core with a medium length finish. Winespecator uses the term austere and I have to agree. Obviously liked it based on the score but I will not drink any more for another couple of years. I love good wine but hate the delayed gratification part of it. I do think that it will evolve into the 95 point range over the next few years.
