Wednesday, December 20, 2023 - Well....over 2 years ago I said I would never buy this again....I didn't lie...lol...however tonight a dinner guest brought a bottle of this for dinner!
Bottle #1 in 2021 must have been an " off" bottle, because:
On nose: faint notes of minerals, sea salt and tangerine skin.
On palate: all above flavour notes enhanced, with grapefruit zest, blanched almonds, parsnip, fresh thyme, a ghost of quinine, and chalk.
All delivered on a sleek, light- medium body,with vibrant acidity, at nearly 10 years of age....as it warmed up , notes of ginger and dried apricot emerged( not unlike the Poco do Lobo Arinto....but less complex)
Went well with garlic/ lemon Chicken tonight....may buy again after all.
