Saturday, October 7, 2023 - shared with pat at selkirk manor. i continue to prune the cellar of bottles with past due drink by dates. the wine proved to be in sound condition. a remarkable showing for a nine year old california chard. the pale color does not create an expectation regarding how substantial the wine proved to be on the nose and the palate. generous flavor profile featuring yellow apple and some nutty/yeast aspects. made in a clean style with no buttery influences. enough acid to hold things together. medium body and finish. will enjoy the remaining bottle soon.
