94 Points

Sunday, June 21, 2009 - I think I just opened a bottle of "whoop-ass"! Bursting with big, deep, pure, brawny flavors of blackberry, licorice, tar and oak with just a hint of pepper. Massively concentrated, with a lush mouthfeel and a long, slightly acidic finish. Rich blackberry, tobacco and oak nose. Balanced, but with a lot of roughness around the edges. Nothing subtle about this bottle, it still has the elemental power of a barrel sample right now. This will be a 95+ wine in 5-10 years.
