Sunday, January 21, 2024 - Garnet red appearance with black cherry nose. In the mouth, more cherries, a touch of some red berries, a little oak and some leather. Very smooth and long finish with a touch of something cool that is almost Cabernet-like and also a little spice. We drank this with an Italian beef stew made with a basic Barbera D'Asti, lemon and thyme roast potatoes and baked beetroots; it was somewhat predictably a great match but there is undoubtedly enough to this wine to deal with heavier dishes.
