Friday, February 2, 2024 - Took about an hour for the nose on this to really open up. Cherry, raspberry, orange peel, black licorice, and wet asphalt, all coasting slightly above a floor of aging cedar and leather.

Palate boasts sweet raspberry, kirsch, baking spice, and lingers with fresh red fruit. Offers some great mid-palate umami often showing in wines this age.

I don’t drink a lot of Barbaresco, which I’m trying to change. But this doesn’t strike me as anywhere near over the hill. Not sure it’ll improve further, but should be good to go for several more years.
