Friday, February 9, 2024 - [TASTED AT A WINEBAR @ GRAPES, MUNICH, GERMANY]

ENGLISH:
Nose: Almost perfumed, dark and juicy, oak grated into damp forest soil, plus violets, juicy sour cherry and plum, a hint of smoky peat, turmeric and some ginger, later fine red bell pepper, quite spicy notes for a Pinot, lots of development in the glass, clove
Taste: Fleshy, fine plum, violets, turmeric and some woody notes, plus this subtle roasted note rather earthy than woody or nutty, black cherry, some fresh, pure ink, wonderfully round, full-bodied, spreads everywhere and yet remains velvety, highly polished tannins for the actual partly quite spicy notes, clove, nutmeg
Comment: Extremely complex wine, quite spicy and full-bodied for a Pinot, which suits me very well. A dream from Australia.

GERMAN (ORIGINAL):
Nose: Fast Parfümiert düster und saftig, in feuchte Walderde geriebene Eiche, dazu Veilchen, saftige Sauerkirsche und Pflaume, ein Hauch rauchiger Torf, Kurkuma und etwas Ingwer, später feine rote Paprika, recht würzige Noten für einen Pinot, viel Entwicklung im Glas, Nelke
Taste: Fleischig feine Pflaume, Veilchen, Kurkuma und etwas waldige Noten, dazu diese dezente Röstnote eher im erdigen Bereich, Schwarzkirsche, etwas frische, reine Tinte, wundervoll runder, vollmundiger Körper, verteilt sich überall und bleibt doch samtig dabei, hochpolierte Tannine für die eigtl. teils recht würzigen Noten, Nelke, Muskat
Comment: Extrem komplexer Wein, recht spicy und vollmundig für einen Pinot, was mir aber sehr entgegenkommt. Traum aus Australien.
