On the first night the aromas are all about red fruits, cherries, strawberries with an undercurrent of potting soil and flowers. The palate was sickeningly fruity (if that makes sense), with orange-y acidity, some herbal and cola flavors, but it did have the oyster shell finish that I seem to find almost exclusively in Burgundy…and I’m a sucker for this. However, I kept saying to myself:

“This does not taste like the wine I tried in the shop.”

On the 2nd and 3rd nights the fruitiness calmed down and worked in harmony with the other aromatic elements and it was a lovely, pleasurable wine, just as it was when I first tried it in the shop. I would buy it again, but give it some air.
