97 Points

Saturday, May 4, 2024 - Decided to revisit and drink it next to the 2019 La Pelle Red Hen cab to see how they compare. Similar thoughts as a couple weeks ago. Smooth mid-palate with a nice purity and solid depth/concentration. Nice vibrant flavors. Decent finish but not overly long nor deep - again I believe the finish will benefit from some more time. Slow ox during the day for around ten hours. Both were quite enjoyable but the Alluvium was a little better in every aspect - purer, a little more depth/concentration, etc.. Once again, no surprise of the 98 rating from Dunnuck. According to Dunnuck, give it four to five years from release which I can’t argue to let it open-up some more but I enjoyed this bottle with a lengthy slow-ox.

Revisited on day two and it improved - picked-up weight and complexity. Quite impressive. Another year or two as recommended by Dunnuck makes sense in light of how it showed on the second day. 97 on day two.
