Tuesday, July 14, 2009 - Great expressive nose with wild berries, boysenberry, espresso, and vanilla. Palate big and round, with definite fine tannin backbone that softens with air. More red and blue fruits, blueberries and blackberries, oak and vanilla with strong white pepper note. Plenty of espresso and earth on the finish along with some candied fruit. Very fruit driven, on the verge of being over done, with some heat on the finish that was more noticeable as the wine warmed in the glass. Still, a wine I enjoyed immensely.
