Thursday, September 16, 2004 - Surprisingly good for a $6 wine ($5.49 actually)...consumed over 3 days - and it held up okay with minimal fading on day 3! Color is bright ruby. Clearly garnacha - red fruits dominate with slight earth and a hint of violets. Medium bodied and straight forward drinking with no hard edges. Respectable structure and tannins without the finish bite I expected in a wine this cheap. Good for drinking now and over the next couple years. Neither cloying nor over-oaked. I won't be stocking up, but for a good go-to wine that costs as much as a bucket of KFC, I can't complain.
