Monday, May 31, 2010 - 2006 Etienne Sauzet Puligny Montrachet Premiere Cru Tasting at Red Slate (Red Slate, Portland, Oregon): Beautiful sliced Braeburn apple shows on the nose. Some fried butter, and a hint of sweet pastry scents appear as well. It's delicate on contact with the palate, with richness evolving on the finish. The acid is subtle but firm, and it contributes to some good balance in the wine. The fruit reminds me of pears, but it's not definite. A bit of heat shows later, but everything is integrated pretty well already. 90-
