Wednesday, July 7, 2010 - Despite a bias against California wines, I was extremely impressed by this bottle. Not a trace of alcohol on the nose, in spite of its 14.5%abv. Beautiful nose, primarily sweet tropical fruits but also savory hammy notes I attributed to its age. Surprisingly high acidity created a long long finish and helped the wine pair well with the scallops we ate with it. Purchased on auction, and will be looking for more.
