Saturday, September 25, 2010 - Sherry, figs and cooked blackberry on the nose awaken the dread; fully garnet color deepens it; the first sip confirms it: toast. And not in a good-buttered-toast-with-yummy-jam kind of way. Prematurely oxidized, aged, gone, what have you. I'd put it down to a bad bottle, but the entire half-case has seemed to be on a highway to Heck, with the first couple being big, brawny and raw, and every one since having been much further advanced than expected. I might have blamed myself for poor storage, but some of the other recent tasters' comments give me pause.
