Thursday, June 22, 2006 - Wow, no one has put a TN on this wine since November last year. Well, allow me to pish into the pot. Hadn't drank a Carlisle in some time so what the hey. Can't recall where I got this wine but perhaps was one of the first bottles I bought from Mike. This wine is about black cherry and black raspberry, peppery flavors and some chocolate. Medium to full bodied, fairly dark in color and with a juicy earthinessl. Hot? Not really. Maybe a little bit of oomph from the alcohol but not out of place--hell, it's a Zin. The finish is a mix of polished fruit and some dusty tannin. Goes well with the turkey bacon, eggbeater, havarti and mustard on sourdough sandwich. (Can you tell my wife didn't cook tonight!). Well done Zin, Mr. Officer.
