Dark color, heady nose of sage, cedar, dark berries, hints of pencil. In the mouth this wine played it a bit close to the vest at first, but after an hour of decanting and another 45 minutes in the glass it started to loosen its grip on intense raspberry and currant, bits of leather and licorice, and some other dark, roasted, extracted flavors (think red wine sauce reduction).
