Tuesday, February 22, 2011 - Northern Rhone Dinner (Grants - Hartford, CT): Wonderfully meaty nose that had subtle coffee, earth, and animal hide mixed throughout. The nose continued to thrill me and developed tones of tobacco, olives, and balsamic before too long. Palate was equally as fascinating with distinct bacon notes intermixed with truffle, dark cherry, earth and a grainy tannin finish. Fantastic wine.
