88 Points

Sunday, August 7, 2011 - Left to breathe in the bottle for 2 hours. Dark red fruit, green vegetable and a little eucalyptus on the nose. Medium plus body with black cherry and plum on the palate with notes of menthol, cedar and a little graphite. This had very nice balance and acidity which nicely reflects the Howell mountain terroir. 20 second finish with surprisingly well integrated tannins for a cabernet this young. Put on weight and improved over the course of the evening. This is a very good, restrained cabernet which should improve over the next several years. However, i just couldn't help being a little disappointed having tasted several of Sojourn's other cabernet offerings. (88+ pts)
