The oak is very aggressive and dominates with toasty and vanilla flavors & aromas.. Tannic with medicinal cherry and blackberry flavors. Honig website: "Aged for 18 months in American oak barrels (1/3 new barrels)." I guess this is one for fans of varietal American oak aged around Cabernet juice. I'm not a fan of this style, and the youth of the wine did not help its cause. YMMV.
