Full disclosure- I have never really liked any of the Owen Roe wines, nor have I had any luck with Cab based wines from DuBrul. I have generally found it on the sweet red side and when producers (mostly the estate owners) load up the new oak, it has generally been over the top for me. When this bottle hit the table, I was pessimistic to say the least. It was absolutely beautiful and a great example of why I love wine. Wine changes with age, palate preferences change, and you find joy in places you never expect to. Further, I often find plenty of VA on many Washington reds with a bit of age, and this was completely free of that.
