Sunday, September 18, 2011 - I like this wine. Decanted for several hours. Nose reeks of sour tannic red fruit, hazelnut, blood orange, and roses. Rustic and elegant. Brownish-red in color. Strawberry, apricot, roses, herbal-tobacco mid-palate and sour finish without much substance. Fades away without incident. Nice wine though. Old world, substantive. Village-blend Barolo. Some coffee and black licorice earlier on, now more nuanced, florals and dried fruit, herbs.
