Tuesday, December 13, 2011 - Very interesting and unique wine. From my research, Uruguay winemakers pretty much have a lock on the process for Tannat. Another I tried from California wasn't good. But this wine is actually quite good. You can tell it's normally used in blends to add structure and body. On it's own, it's huge, dense - black fruits barely discernible through the thicket of tannins. With a hearty stew, it works. I'd consider buying more if I can find it.
