Monday, April 9, 2012 - Deep maroon color. Brambly berries, vanilla, black pepper, and dark chocolate on the decent but not very expressive nose. Fairly full bodied with solid, ripe tannins and nice acidity. Fairly reserved on the palate for a Rosenblum zin, especially one from Rockpile. Berries, pepper, chocolate, and oak are the main elements on the palate. Decent length on the finish, but again it is a bit light and shows chocolaty oak. Hopefully this will add some weight and the oak will integrate with some cellar time, but I wouldn't hold my breath. A decent week night Zin but unfortunately not too much more.
