Sunday, May 13, 2012 - A dark red core that fades to a watery rim. Viscosity is high leaving thick legs slowly falling down the glass.
After decant strong cedar aromas frame black plum, dark berries, vanilla and chocolate ganache notes, as well bit of heat from the alcohol.
The rich palate is luscious and full bodied. Flavors of cassis, plum, dark cherry and currant, are met with oaky, nutty nuances. Espresso and fig flavors round out the flavor profile. The mid palate is rich with sweet fruit and moderate acid. Tannins are ripe and plush, and push through the long finish.
Should cellar well. Can't wait to see how this will evolve with bottle age
