Saturday, July 28, 2012 - Black berry fruits, earth, leather, chocolate in both the bouquet as well as the taste. Pleasant acidity, soft tannin with still a good bite. The wine is ready now and will stay on this level for some years; at least until 2015.

    So do you feel confident this can hold a bit longer? I still have one bottle left that would like to hold couple years max... some ppl told me this should be drunk up, mostly due to the conditions of that vintage (extreme heat). Thanks,

    11/14/2012 5:44:00 PM - Hi Periko, as I wrote; it will hold for a few more years I trust. It was a very hot vintage indeed, but if the tannin and acidity are ok, there is no hurry. If you read my other notes, you can see that I also use "drink now or soon" or "ready now, but no real hurry". In the first case that means for me the wine is ready now and almost going downhill. In the second case that means that you can probably keep ik for another year or two, but no reason to wait. In this case I mentioned 2015, and then, if the storing conditions are ok, I am more than 95% certain it will last at least until then. Hope this is of help. Cheers, Zweder.
