Tuesday, August 7, 2012 - Drinking very well right now. Dark color, lovely nose of blackberry mingled with oak. Lush mouthfeel, with lots of dark fruit and cherry notes. Not flabby or over the top, just honest, deep Merlot character. I was impressed by the underlying tannic structure which is fully integrated with the fruit. Not big or overpowering, but well balanced. Only disappointing feature is the finish, which is rather short. Still, this is a fine example of Napa Valley Merlot, and at less than $20, this wine is a steal. Paired perfectly with with a grilled sirloin. Believe this is at its peak, and should be drunk soon. Highest recommendation.
