Saturday, September 22, 2012 - I knew the wine would still be young, but I have several of these in the cellar and I thought it would be a good time to check in and see where things were. Very dark color (trademark Voerzio) all the way to the rim. Fabulous nose of dark red & black fruit, accompanied by aged tobacco, leather & truffles. Finish is fantastic. Very long, with tannins still showing the wines youthfulness, however the fruit is so beautiful there is no drying in the mouth. Outstanding balance. Only thing this wine needs is more time in bottle. Aging at glacial speed. Won’t check in again for another 4 or 5 years.
