Thursday, November 1, 2012 - Delicious boysenberry fruit bomb with dark maple, chocolate fudge, and black currant, with bits of bay leaf, parsley and anise adding lift. Long finish. Spectacular wine, thick but plenty juicy. Decanted through an aerator and tasted over 2 hours. Right now the tannins are overwhelmed by waves of fruit. The acidity will not last forever so the winery drinking window looks about right (through 2025) but this will be hard to wait on given how sexy this brash youngster is now. Update: on day 2 the tannins cinched up somewhat and it was relatively off - kilter (keep in mind it got a ton of decant time before spending 20 hours under cork).
