Saturday, December 29, 2012 - Smells great, blueberry fruit, dates, leather, beef jerky, coffee. Complex aromas. Medium-full bodied. There are some nice fruit flavors early paired with leather and coffee. There is a bitter dark chocolate thing going on right before the alcoholic heat gets a bit strong and overcomes the flavors in the finish. The flavor lasts past this, leaving nice earthy fruit flavors, thinking dates or dried fig. It's nice wine, enjoyable to drink, but a bit too much alcohol. Gentle, rounded tannin and balanced acidity tells me this is ready to drink. Better slightly chilled.
