Wednesday, March 6, 2013 - I am equally wary of under 6$ sauvignon blancs as I am on pinots. This is pretty drinkable. Has some of the qualities I look for in a white, but it does not really compare to its cousins from Marlborough.
Trader Joe’s, $5.99. They say: aromas are of fresh melons, pears, dried figs, lemon grass and Meyer lemons, with a hint of fresh dried herbs that waft from the glass.
I get the melon and the fruitiness- about as sweet as I would want my white wine to be. Not much acidity/ finish to me and nothing complex or particularly interesting. But drinkable. Perhaps I should not be such a snob about sauvignon blanc in general......
