  • I'm afraid this wine is artificial and manipulated. I doubt the industrial type flavors and aromas are a product of natural, clean wine making. It reminds me of Yellow Tail with the greenish, unripe flavor characteristics. I also think there was an acid addition from 50 pound bags. That being said, I can see why some may like this, and it is not totally a disaster. There is a hint of lemongrass on the nose, with light pear, and grapefruit. There is an odd spiciness with the fruit that tries to completely ruin the not quite adequate mango, citrus, pear and melon fruit. Not a fan of this style of acid. Industrial cleaner finish. Don't recommend trying this.

  • I am equally wary of under 6$ sauvignon blancs as I am on pinots. This is pretty drinkable. Has some of the qualities I look for in a white, but it does not really compare to its cousins from Marlborough.
Trader Joe’s, $5.99. They say: aromas are of fresh melons, pears, dried figs, lemon grass and Meyer lemons, with a hint of fresh dried herbs that waft from the glass.
I get the melon and the fruitiness- about as sweet as I would want my white wine to be. Not much acidity/ finish to me and nothing complex or particularly interesting. But drinkable. Perhaps I should not be such a snob about sauvignon blanc in general......

  • Medium body, lots of pear and lemon.
