Thursday, April 18, 2013 - Dark purple color. Still very closed at the beginning, starting to open up after decanting for 2 hours. Beautiful classic nose of blackberries, dark cherries, lead pencil, earth and some tobacco/ash. Full body, very classic structure of tons of ripe tannins and quite some well hidden acidity. This still needs some time to come together, but there is a lot of potential here. I'm just starting to drink the 2000 right now and it's stunningly beautiful. Be patient, it might deserve an even higher rating in a few years. Excellent value.
