91 Points

Saturday, June 4, 2011 - Tasted this at the winery in Napa Valley. Strong oak flavors at the onset that gently mellows down at the mid-to-end palate that finishes quite long. Flavors of dark cherry, oak, tobacco, earth. It's very clear that Silver Oak doesn't like to be drunk below 5 years. The sweet spot starts about 7 years and up. As it turns out, in spite of the low scores being thrown at them, I've become a fan, and have been following their vintages since 2002.
