Dark ruby garnet color with finely grained particles fading toward the orange rust rim with a reflective edge. The nose gives off smoky aromas of red berries and violets spiced up by toasted oak. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a silky texture that gives a clean, polished mouthfeel with flavors of black berries and dark cherry braced with acidity that balances power and intensity with elegance. Due to its age, there are secondary flavors of leather, cola, tobacco and pencil shavings from the oak aging with tertiary flavors of pine nuts in the long, transcendent finish. Drink now with a 20-minute decant until 2033.

Medium garnet color turning amber at the rim with a wide reflective band. The nose gives off smoky notes of dark red berries, leather and scorched earth from the toasted oak. The palate is silky smooth with a firm, relatively youthful grip and ample acidity that balances the ripe cassis, raspberry, and strawberry compote flavors. At this age, there are secondary flavors of leather, seared meat and tea leaf that emerge from the oak. Very seamlessly integrated, balanced and elegant. Finishes long with hints of eucalyptus. Drink now until 2028.

Opaque purple color with a reflective edge. The nose gives off ripe, concentrated flavors of dark berries with smoky notes of cigar box and cedar from the toasted oak. The palate is full-bodied, creamy in texture, and goes full throttle on ripeness. But there’s enough acidity restraining the alcohol to bring this wine back in its place. Flavors of blackberry, cassis, blueberry, and raspberry form the core. But there’s so much going on with secondary flavors of chocolate, espresso and tobacco that nothing need be said any longer. The mid palate is solid, and leads to a complete, unctuous drink that need not be paired with any food, consistent with the style we’ve all come to recognize. Finishes long with velvety tannins that last for 40 seconds. Drink now until 2038. 96 pts.

1/16/2022 8:21:00 AM - Hi Life At Your Leisure. Very much like your TN's. Looked at your cellar and saw a lot of similarities with my cellar/taste. Cheers and continue enjoying wine
3/17/2020 8:11:00 AM - Great profile, a lot in common philosophically and personally, might expand on my own further as a result. If you ever make it to flyover country - St. Louis, MO - would love to share some btls and thoughts!
4/22/2016 2:26:00 PM - Your opinions are respected and highly regarded by this wino. Too bad Muntinlupa isn't closer to Omaha so we could enjoy some stimulating conversation and perhaps a bottle or two.....The Moose
12/26/2015 9:42:00 PM - Pleased to become a fan, Life At Your Leisure! We share many viewpoints with you regarding sipping 'n snacking! To us, visiting a restaurant should be an "event", not just great food or wine. We look forward to reading more of your notes going forward!
3/21/2013 5:54:00 PM - Seems we have a love of similar wines. The Southern Rhone wines of CdP, especially those with a good amount of Mouvedre. We also seem to have similar tastes in Champagne. These are great wines and as Bordeaux and Burgundy enter into the high tiered pricing its nice to know other alternatives. Some California sparklers can be aged as can Argyle Brut extra triage, from Oregon. Cheers!
