88 Points

Thursday, April 25, 2013 - An entry-level Nebbiolo with good typicity. Transparent ruby and light-bodied. Starts out smelling like varnish. That note never goes away entirely but recedes, and is complemented by some florals, citrus, spice, and marzipan. On the palate there's a respectable dose of sour cherry fruit, but not enough to stand up to the very dialed-up acidity, at least without food--among the adjectives used at the table were "piercing" and "searing." Less tannic than I would have expected.
