Friday, May 24, 2013 - I really love this style of Rosso di Montalcino: lovely refined and fresh with the same enticing aromas that I like so much about a good Brunello. Only then in a fresher and lighter incarnation.
And this wine is in a great place right now:
Medium ruby color. Mouth watering aromas of cherry, blackcurrant and tobacco evolving with spices and hints of eucalyptus. Medium-full bodied with smooth tannins, balanced fresh acidity and dark fruit. The finish is long and remains fresh trought.
It has actually gaind some complexity since last time, deserving a notch up (perhaps it belonged there all the time...)
