Saturday, July 13, 2013 - Decanted through Vinturi and tasted immediately. Restrained nose of blackberry and a little plum or blueberry, with maybe a note of mushroom in the background. Palate has again a lot of blackberry, some currant, other black fruit. Tannins are fairly aggressive, and acidity fairly high. This is still a bit tight and could wait a few more years, but would be excellent now with a few hours in decanter. Went well with a grilled steak and grilled summer vegetables. We'll see what the leftovers are like after sitting overnight in the decanter.
