Sunday, September 22, 2013 - Drank alongside a '70 Chateau Batailley. The Leoville did not show as well as the Batailley. Very muted aromas of black currant and dark wild cherries. More fruity on the palate - black berries and tart cherries. Quite a bit of acidity on the back palate which give the wine an unpleasant sour note on the thankfully short finish. Definitely years past its prime.
