Wednesday, October 2, 2013 - After the vertical a few months ago, I pulled my last bottle of 2006 Dundee Hills out of a box in the back of the cellar to consume as soon as possible. This bottle performed very well. The vertical tasting really showed off this wine's imperfections, however consumed on it's own they are not so apparent. The Dundee Hills terroir shows through initially while the fruit is on the dark, rich, and jammy side. Tannins are very light and the acidity is just enough. There is some alcohol on the finish like previously mentioned. Better on it's own then with food due to the alcohol. Drinking a bit past prime in my opinion, but still holding tough. Consumed over two days, good as both a PnP and on day 2.
