Tuesday, October 8, 2013 - Had been saving this for some reason that I dont even remember any more (there WAS one!). Pulled it out to serve with medium-rare NY-Strip, sautéed dinosaur kale with garlic chips, and sauteed mushrooms. Was very worried about (a) whether it was OK and (b) whether it would hold up

Yes and Yes. No longer had the Cal-Napa punch (if it ever had it) – but was smooth – with a very decent finish. And was not that super-extracted sludge that you get at the store. Second bottle WAS a 2011 young/fruity Cal-Cab and it served to highlight how nice the Pine Ridge was.

In retrospect, should have served it with roast-chicken type of food – but was very fine.
