Friday, July 6, 2007 - Dinner at Dads with Cousins from Ireland (Dads House): This was a surpsingly good chardonnay. I have all but given up on most California chardonnay's as they seem to be nothing more than oak and butter and with the New Zealand Sav. Blancs drinking so well, its simply not something I look at anymore. This wine came as part of the Coppola wine club. They bottle it from time to time when they do not need all of it for blending with thier flagship white.

This wine had a nice hint of grapefruit and orange rind on the nose with crisp citrus on the palate, no butter or oak got int he way of it. This wine almost drank like one of the aformentioned Sav. Blancs fron NZ.
