Saturday, April 12, 2014 - Probably served little too cold at first. Nice light yellow color, richer and more dense than I expected. Some golden apple, pear, and a crystalline hard yellow lemon candy at first. As this opened and warmed, the wine seemed to become lighter in feel and showed more lime and citrus, especially on the finish. Ann thought it was more grapefruit like. There is some nice saline and marine like notes, but not necessarily oyster shell or earthy mineral that I enjoy. There is good acidity and I enjoyed it on this warm (finally) spring night. I wish I bought more when I had the chance.

I've yet to drink any of my Clos or Vaudesir. Need to do that and see if those drink at a higher class than the 1ers (I suppose that is the intention!).

4/16/2014 8:46:00 AM - Thanks Frank. I've not had any of the Michel grand cru's so I look forward to your notes on them and hope I can find some locally.
