Wednesday, April 30, 2014 - This wine was about average and consistent with my last note about a month ago, but after being in the bottle for 4 days, is one of the best Sea Smoke's I've ever had. Head and shoulders above the disappointing 2007, which i am still hoping will come around. The fruit and acidity are right on, and the pinot fruit which to my taste is on the bitter side, has emerged with force. that is what was missing in my earlier taste and it took several days for it to show. I am impressed with this wine, and didn't realize I had opened two so close together. Intense flavors on back and sides of tongue.Deep burgundy and lighter at the edges. Hope to try again in 5 years. I am in the CT drinking window and note other bottles users consumed recently indicate close to peak.
