Thursday, October 27, 2011 - (Old note)
Dark fruity, discrete and subtle nose. Some violets and herbs. Not very invinting.
Medium body, some elegance. Dark fruit and spices. But at the same time mean, acidic, slightly astringent and bitter. (Tasted blind this took a beating of2002 Pousse d'Or and 2001 DRC Echezeaux not surprisingly. For our tasting group it confirmed the notion of Clos de Vougeot as the Russian Roulette of Burgundy.)
