90 Points

Wednesday, July 2, 2014 - The wine was popped and decanted for 5 hours before drinking. It pours a rusty red color with much bricking at the edges. Albeit tired upon opening, the wine developed into a more vivacious tipple as it sat in the decanter. On the nose are unmistakable scents of lead pencils, leather, pepper and blackberries. The tertiary flavors of mint and petrol are especially strong in this wine. On the palate, the wine is unctuous with the unabashed viscosity enveloping the entire mouth. Notes of stone fruits, leather and barbecued meats come to the fore. Alcohol is quite strong in this wine for a Bordeaux. The finish is long with much tobacco was the acidity draws the smokiness out to a close. Fabulous.
