93 Points

Thursday, July 3, 2014 - Dark purple color. Decanted for 90 minutes. This wine was unquestionably excellent (6 of us agreed) and much preferred over the 2000 fronsac. Dried black cherry and woody almost mushroom nose. Big and rich with a nice balance of fruit and spice, and strong backbone of tannins. Well structured and surprisingly good for the price point. As expected from my notes 5 years ago the wine has really evolved even more. The wine is drinking very well, perhaps will get even better despite the CT drinking window. But see no reason to wait and look forward to popping another bottle soon.
