2002 Château Le Bon Pasteur

Community Tasting Note

Does not like this wine:

Saturday, July 26, 2014 - Dark ruby and crimson in the glass. Interesting nose, meaty with black current / black berries and dust; a little zippy at first it goes on to be toned down by softer dull tones. Palate shows waves of black fruit, peppercorn and cloves that reveal heavy oak on the mid palate and finish. Finish is layered in oak / vanilla, mocha ad a minty streak. Tannins were slightly drying at first and gave the mid palate a hollow sensation but that faded with a two hour decant to show a nice mid-weight body. There is a nice acid level, but it takes a while to show up. Nice effort but too much oak and too modern for my tastes (not that I'm surprised).
Good - drink or hold
