Wednesday, November 26, 2014 - Grower Champagne Tasting, Individual Expressions of Champagne (IMW) (Trinity House, London): Equal proportions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, harvested from Oeuilly, Vallee de la Marne, first fermentation in oak with no malolactic, oak maturation from harvest to April, bottle ageing 14 years. This is based (85%) in 1999 vintage and the rest from 1998, 1997 and 1996.

The nose is clean with medium intensity, showing complexity with a nicely developed character, ripe citrus and apple, vanilla, lightly jammy and oxidative.
The wine is dry (2g/l residual sugar), medium body and intenstiy, medium alcohol (12%), acidity is med+ to high, CO2 gives a very nice mouthfeel and nerve, dried pineapple, that salty feeling again, lime in the back, a few green notes still there in the med+ finish.
Outstanding quality, premium price, drink now
